Felipe Lima, do Minas Tênis, levou o único ouro brasileiro até agora, no GP de Missouri, que começou na sexta-feira (10). Foi nos 100m peito, cravando 1m00s89, deixando em segundo Eric Shanteau (1m01s11) e, em terceiro, Mark Gangloff (1m01s45). Thiago Pereira ficou em segundo na final B (1m03s92), mas o pódio ficou com os três acima. Na classificação geral, Thiago ficou em 18°. Já nos 400m medley feminino, Joanna Maranhão, que já tem índice para as olimpíadas de Londres na prova, ficou em segundo, com 4m42s49. Em primeiro, veio Alexa Komarnycky, do Canadá, com 4m41s66. Thiago Pereira ficou em terceiro, também na sexta-feira, nos 100m borboleta (53s66), sendo ultrapassado por Tyler McGill (52s58), em primeiro, e Fred Bousquet (53s54), 'le français', em segundo. Mas, bronze garantido. Marco Macedo, brasileiro, ficou na quarta colocação, marcando 54s36. Nome novo aparecendo. Cielo fez o segundo tempo na final B (54s75), mas quem chegou em primeiro foi Joe Bartoch (54s43).
Brazilian swimmer Felipe Lima (MTC), got the only gold medal so far in Missouri GP 2012, yesterday (10), first day of competitions. In 100m breaststroke, with 1m00s89, Felipe left Eric Shanteau in second (1m01s11), and, coming in third, Mark Gangloff (1m01s45). Thiago Pereira, another brazilian, got the second time, B Finals (1m03s92), but, in the end, got only the 18° time. Joanna Maranhao (Brazil) got the silver medal - 400m medley. First came Alexa Komarnycky, from Canada (4m41s66).
100m butterfly, Thiago Pereira came in third, and has guaranteed the bronze medal (53s66). Tyler McGill came in first (52s58), and Fred Bousquet (52s54), got the second place at the podium. Another brazilian, Marco Macedo, came in fourth (54s36). Cesar Cielo was the second, B Finals (54s75), but in front of him there was a Joe Bartoch (54s43), left the brazilian behind. Let´s see what the second day of competitions brings to our national team, and french, american names, athletes testing their best so far, many still heavy, as more brazilian and international competitions come before the decisive july, when the major proof comes, the biggest chalenge: London 2012 Olympic Games.
